Gary and Rosie have decided to save planet earth, because in spite of earthlings being really dumb and reckless, they love puppies and invented ice cream, which is more than enough reason to spare their miserable little lives.
Thank goodness! If our Glirkazoid saviors did NOT take immediate action, earth folks would be DOOMED to suffer the terminal effects of covid 19, insurrection, mesothelioma, online shaming, virtue signaling, crooked politicians, cancel culture, Ellen DeGeneres, earthquakes in one place after another, killer hornets, flesh eating bacteria, etc. etc. etc.!
Only the ones fortunate enough to have seen this wonderful movie will understand why it's referenced here.
