Confused And Dumbfounded Like Me?
Are you as confused and dumbfounded as me?
Of course you're not! However, you may feel the same way I do about wha hapnin' on TV nowadays.
For instance, some of the ads feature some so called, "famous" personality, sports figure, actor, and I guess we're supposed to know who they are.
I don't know who they are! Do you?
Maybe the commercial would have a bigger impact on me if I knew how IMPORTANT they are. It might as well be some average "Joe" or "Jill" from down the block.
So why don't they include the name and occupation of the "star" so I'll know if they have any credibility for me. Probably not, but I feel it's the least they can do for us folks out of the loop.
What do you think? Do you know all of these "celebs" in the ads? I think there was a time when I did, but now, what day is this, anyway!
Do you ever watch an advertisement on TV very intently, and when it's over, you have NO idea what it was about, what the product was, or what point they were trying to make?
No? Maybe it's just me, huh?
They will have a sports car driving down the road with an unknown celeb (unknown to me), who stops at a night club, where people are wearing cool, fashionable clothes, drinking adult beverages, and a band is playing some unknown song (unknown to me). At the end it will super-impose the word, "Daliplum," or something.
Okay, gang! I don't know if the ad is for the sports car, the night club, the clothing, the adult booze, the band, or something else!!
Come on! Is it just me, or what?
Here's what I want..."Hi! I'm John Wayne, the movie actor, I like smoking Camel Cigarettes! Buy them at your local store. Remember, if me, John Wayne, smokes Camel Cigarettes, you will like them too, so go buy them at your local store!"
Simple! To the point! No guessing! Maybe a little COPD in a few years, but at least you know what the heck he's advertising!!
Tell me if any of you suffer from the same confused, dumbfounded state as me! I'll feel much better!!
