 FAN FRIDAYS

By now you probably know that on "Fan Fridays" I put the proverbial "spotlight" on someone or something I've been a fan of in my past life, or someone or something I'm still a fan of today.

I think everyone remembers Mel Blanc, who did the amazing voices of Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Tweety Bird, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Sylvester the Cat, and many others!

However, we ain't talkin' about him on this
"Fan Friday...he gets a lot of recognition
already.

We are going to look at the voice-man who
was closest to my heart!...Daws Butler!

Ever hear of him?
I think you may know the characters he did
the voices for...they include:

  • Aesop's Son (in the "Aesop and Son"

  • Butler would voice most of these

characters for many decades, in both TV

shows and in some commercials. The

    breakfast cereal mascot Cap'n Crunch

became an icon of sorts on Saturday

    morning cartoons through many

    commercials produced by Jay Ward.

Butler gave voice to the Cap'n from the

    1960s to the 1980s.

My favorites were Hokey Wolf, Aesop's

    Son, Elroy Jetson, Snagglepuss, Baba

    Looey, Dixie Mouse, Huckleberry Hound,

Mr. Jinx (the cat), Quick Draw McGraw,

Snoopy, Quisp, and The Wolf from the

    Droopy cartoons!

Who was your favorite, or favorites?

I am a BIG fan of Daws Butler, because he

made me happy as a child, and because he

     had such a cool name!

Not to be putting down the awesome Mel

Blanc, who had a cool sense of humor, as

    you can see below:
