Diversification,The Key To Happiness?

If I stop enjoying certain entertainers, because of their political views, I ain't gonna have much to enjoy on TV, movies, radio, or nuttin' honey!

I'd be such a hypocrite, as well.

Over the years my favorites have been, Joni Mitchell, John Lennon, Richie Havens and liberal souls like them.

A lot of my supremely talented YouTube friends have political views totally opposite of mine.

Take the famous composers of long ago, like Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach. I really don't know, or care about their political views. I just love listening to their glorious music!

Looks like two republicans and one democrat.

Shouldn't music transcend less important things, like who we're gonna vote for, who we're not gonna vote for, and the price of eggs? Sure it should!

What's that got to do with the price of eggs? A rhetorical question calling attention to a non-sequitur or irrelevant statement or suggestion made by another person. Primarily heard in US.

By the way, I really don't have time to search out the political views of Steve Martin, Martin Short, or Howie Long, before I watch them in a movie!

What's important to me is the CHARACTER they portray!  If they are good guys in the movie, I approve of them. If they are bad guys, I disapprove, until they play good guys in another movie.

That's why I always like animals in movies. They are, almost, ALWAYS good (the Siamese cats in Lady and the Tramp weren't, but that's a rare exception), and animals never have a political agenda!

I'm too old to pick and choose who's on my side, politically, before I enjoy their performances. In fact, sometimes I don't even know what side I'M on, when folks on my side act CRAZY TOWN!

Why am I bringing this up? It's because..uh..it is..I DON'T KNOW why I'm bringing it up, but if we limit our kaleidoscope of colorful brain receptors to a few sources of audio and visual stimulators, we will miss out on a bunch of cool stuff, by golly!

Remember this cheer:

If you're feelin' old and dry,
Why don't you diversify,
Lawrence Welk  may be your style,
But put Foo Fighters in your file.

Diversify, diversify...that's the thing to do,
Don't worry if they're Christian...Muslim, or a Jew,
Don't worry if friends judge you,
And punch you in the eye,
Tell 'em some nut told you,
To please diversify!!

My Review Of The New Kelly Clarkson Show

I'm not gonna reveal my feelings about the premier of the Kelly Clarkson show right away.

I want you folks to get "hooked" on the suspense of what my unbiased review may reveal (I already used REVEAL) uh...SAY...what my unbiased review may SAY!!

We all remember Kelly Clarkson from American Idol. She was actually the FIRST American Idol winner...or was it America's Got Talent?

Anyway, America was in the title!

She was cute! CUTER than a button (if you think buttons are cute), and that VOICE!! That amazing VOICE...was better, or at least as good as ANY voice I've ever heard!!!!

In the years that followed her phenomenal win on America's Got Idols, or was it Prancing With The Stars, she had record breaking success making records (I know records are passe, but you know what I mean), with sold out performances, having babies, and being a mom to her stepchildren.

Okay, friends and neighbors...now we get down to the nitty gritty...the facts, mam, nuthin' but the facts...

The premier of Kelly's new show (I call her Kelly, even though I haven't the right) started with a tribute to working woman. Kelly came out singing that Dolly Parton song, "Working 9 to 5," whilst a music video played, that showed members of her audience (I think all women) working at their real life jobs as police officers, fire fighters and such.

           Please watch this!

Her guest was Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson. It was supposed to be Kevin Hart, but Dwayne filled in, due to a car accident involving Kevin. Kevin's gonna be alright, boys and girls. (See how I know all these celebs on a first name basis? NOT!!)

Dwayne interrupted his honeymoon to fill in for his buddy, Kevin. For real!

At the end was a segment that highlighted the life of a woman who set up a food pantry in Oregon (I believe), and how the townsfolk paid her back.

My overall rating: You guessed it:

JABBERWOCKY Won Oh Won

Sorry, folks! I haven't posted my blog since last Wednesday, but it's a fact of life that a LOT of things are more important than my silly blog, to be totally transparent.

"Wow!" You exclaim, with shocked amazement..."Danny boy admitted there are things more important than his precious blog!!"

Disclaimer: Danny is not saying his blog is not important, but simply emphasizing the fact that there are certain world events, catastrophes, disasters, passing of friends and family (including pets), watching the Cardinals win the World Series, severe illnesses, accepting the Congressional Medal Of Honor,  and being REALLY, REALLY tired, that may proclude my impotent blog from tom to tom. (impotent?)

My goal is to NEVER miss a day, except for Sat. and Sun., because you fantastic folks deserve to receive the bestest, most funniest, profoundest, thought provokingest, heart warmingest blog in the whole wide worm! (what's wit da worms?)

Okay. "What's wit da worms," you ask, so inquisitively!

John Lennon, is the answer. He would often substitute strange words for normal words (in a jabberwocky style) , for no apparent reason.

jab·ber·wock·y
/ˈjabərˌwäkē/
noun
  1. invented or meaningless language; nonsense.

"the translation was slow and full of jabberwocky"

It always tickled my innards when Lennon did this, so I adopted his amusing word wizardry, to thrill and amuse my fiends! However, my jabberwocky is super sane, compared to the "Walrus's!"

The Faulty Bagnose
John Lennon

Softly softly, treads the Mungle
Thinner thorn behaviour street.
Whorg canteell whorth bee asbin?
Cam we so all complete,
With all our faulty bagnose?

The Mungle pilgriffs far awoy
Religeorge too thee worled
Sam fells on the waysock/side
And somforbe on a gurled,
With her faulty bagnose!

Our Mungle speaks tonife at eight
He tell us wop to doo
and bless us cotten sods again
Oamnipple to our jew

You see! I'm not as crazy as you thought!!

I know. Copying from John Lennon seems low and lazy, but he copied Lewis Carroll, so there!

JABBERWOCKY
Lewis Carroll
(from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872)

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Out Of This World Wednesday..Eureka!

For those of you who have not been keeping up with these Out Of This World Wednesday exploits (exploit: a bold and daring feat), we have good news!

A brief recap of the last few, exciting episodes...

Our fearless Glirkazoid gladiators (Rosie and Gary) accepted a suicide mission to move The Great Jewel Of Neprotonicus 11 (Neprotonicus 11 is a planet doomed to destruction) to Neprotonicus 12 (a paradisaic planet that is very primitive), where the jewel will provide power for the new inhabitants that have recently arrived from Neprotonicus 11, after evacuating that planet...DOOMED TO DESTRUCTION!! (the narrator with the deep voice says "DOOMED TO DESTRUCTION" very powerfully, along with dramatic music!!)

Gary and Rosie have been braving the nasty elements and vicious creatures of Neprotonicus 11. The wild, wicked wind, hot, blue, molten blava, reanimated, fossilized, ferocious felines, and the unrelenting wisecracks from each other!!

Gary - "I hope we're almost to the cavernous cave of The Great Jewel Of Neprotonicus 11, Rosie! We are almost out of Reese's Pieces, the wind has given me chapped cheeks, and the blue, bubbling blava is burning my bunions!"

Rosie - "Yes! According to our GPS (Glirkazoid Positioning System) we should be right on top of..."

As Rosie is speaking, both of our spaze spelunkers see the ground open up at their tiny little feet, and they slide down, down, down into the cavernous cave of The Great Jewel Of Neprotonicus, into a massive mound of Reese's Pieces, which saves them from breaking their tiny little necks!

No neck.

Maybe a little neck?
Well, I'm not sure if they have necks, but they were not hurt.

Gary - "Eureka! (meaning: We've found it!) Start eating, Rosie!!"

Rosie - "Have you totally lost it, Gary? We didn't come here to find Reese's Pieces, although they ARE delicious, but to retrieve the Great Jewel Of Neprotonicus 11!!"

Gary - "That's exactly what we're doing, spaze cadet! The legend of The Great Jewel Of Neprotonicus 11 details the fact that The Great Jewel would be buried beneath a massive mound of Reese's Pieces, and we need to eat our way to the bottom! You in?"

Rosie - "I'm in like E.T., Gary!!!"

Will Rosie and Gary reach The Great Jewel Of Neprotonicus 11 before they:

1. throw up?

2. get caught in the coming implosion of the planet?

3. get sidetracked by a vein of Hershey Kisses?

4. get attacked by a the ginormous, hideous Guardian of The Great Jewel Of Neprotonicus 11?

Hey, kids! Don't forget to remember to join us next Wednesday for your favorite spaze blog that posts almost every Wednesday!
