Ignore This Blog Today!

They used to call it reverse psychology , but I don't know what they call it now.

You tell someone to do something, or not do something, and they do the opposite.

For instance, you say to your baby, "Whatever you do, DON'T eat that broccoli!"

It doesn't usually work, but that's a small example of reverse psychology.

Here is one you can relate to, folks...

If you don't know this classic story of reverse psychology, it's imperative you watch the, above, cartoon clip ... NOW!!

We will wait, whist listening to this classic "waiting music..."

I have loved the "Tar Baby" story since I was a drooling little bambino, and STILL love it as a drooling old guy!!

I never realized it was an excellent example of reverse psychology until I was about 5 years old, and by that time I was hooked on the adorable story...♪♪ Oh, I was born in the brier patch...I was born in the brier patch ♪♪... or something like that.

So now you understand why I entitled this post, "Ignore This Blog Today."

I was using the time honored "reverse psychology" method, to trick you into clicking on my blog today!

i will know if my devious, evil plan worked, when I crunch the numbers from my analytics thingy.

I'm not TylerPak...just an example of analytics, friends.

While I'm at it, I'll try a few more reverse psychology attempts...

"Please, do NOT send me gold! Even if you pity my pathetic poorness, DON'T send me gold!!"

"To all of you music producer, executives ... refrain from publishing one of my original songs, and offering me a 10 million dollar recording contract!"

"All of you White Castle Hamburger bigwigs should NEVER put a White Castle establishment in Peoria, Illinois!"

Now, I'll just step back and see what happens. I hope the White Castle one is effective, more than all the others!

Of course, the first experiment is with this blog. What will happen? Total domination of the blogosphere, or complete anonymity, in a pit of internet darkness forever.

It's really up to you guys.

No pressure.

Out Of This World Wednesday
Mission Accomplished?

Our last exciting episode of Out Of This World Wednesday left us with a breath of fresh air, as the Silver Sausage spazeship descended into the atmosphere of Neprotonicus 12.

Well, maybe they hadn't descended into the atmosphere yet, but we are wanting to speed things up a bit, so you won't be bored as much as usual.

Rosie - "Neprotonicus 12 is so beauteous, Gary! It's such a pleasure and honor to deliver the Great Jewel Of Neprotonicus 11, that will provide the enormous power needed to uh..POWER their video games, heating elements, frigidation systems, droids, cyborgs, toys for the kidlets, H3o pumping stations, smart kars,  dumb phones, and just about everything they need for a comfortable existence."

Gary - "Yeah, yeah, yeah...all I care about is the 20,000 pazoozas they promised us! It ain't much, but it's better than nuttin' honey.

Rosie - "Gary! Look out the starboard porthole!"

Gary - "You know I never can remember which side starboard is on!!"

Rosie - "The right, goofball!"

As they look out of the starboard porthole, they can see, literally, millions of cheering, dancing Neprotonicans in the light of the Silver Sausage's landing beams! (It's dark on Neprotonicus 12, due to the fact that it's night time and the Great Jewel Of Neprotonicus 11 has not been installed yet)

As soon as the Silver Sausage touches terra firma ...

ter·ra fir·ma
/ˌterə ˈfərmə/
noun
  1. dry land; the ground as distinct from the sea or air.
"they needed to rest themselves on terra firma"

Rosie and Gary, excitedly, run down the ramp to the waiting arms of one Neprotonican Buala Beast!

I know the picture looks like Stitch , but It's actually a Buala Beast.

The millions of happy Neprotonicans are 500 feetraps away, partying down over something else!

Gary - "HEY!!! You Neprotonicans!!! We are over here!!!! We have the GREAT Jewel!!!!"

A Random Neprotonican - "Cool! Just set it on that rock and we'll get it later."

Rosie - "WHAT? We have traveled billions of lite-years (not to be confused with lite beers), fought hideous creatures, survived earthquakes and blava, diseases, hunger, thirst, blisters, and much more, to bring you this power source, and you dudes (and dudettes...being inclusive) are too busy to come and grab it?"

A Group Of Neprotonicans reply together - "They just legalized "bizarro bush," and we are celebrating this great event by smoking it! So we don't know what we're doing!"

Bizarro bush.

Gary - "How did that whole group talk in unison, Rosie? That was weird!"

Rosie - "It's because that dreaded "bizarro bush" causes a group thinking mind meld, that eliminates free individual thinking, and destroys the will to improve your lot in life, or work, or create, or even appreciate the giant effort we displayed in bringing that cockadoodie Great Jewel to them for a measly 20,000 pazoozas!!"

Gary - "THAT'S RIGHT, ROSIE!!! Where's our measly 20,000 pazoozas, huh?!! In fact, we deserve one gazillion pazoozas from you ingrates!!

Now, here is the cool part! Gary puts his Glirkazoid Goo Gun on extra gooey, and goos the millions of stoned Neprotonicans (the gun has great range) to the point of immobility and helplessness!

This Is Not A Neprotonican, but you get the point!

The enormous stash of "bizarro bush" is destroyed, never to be produced again, the Neprotonicans come to their senses, after they struggle out of the debilitating goo, and the Great Jewel is firmly installed on Mt. Gounderus, to provide unlimited power forever!

By the way, Gary and Rosie received  20,000 one gazillion pazoozas because the Neprotonicans did NOT want to be gooed again! It ain't fun!

What new adventures await our Glirkazoid gladiators?

Are we strong enough to join them on their next harrowing mission?

           Examples of harrowing car chases!

(The adjective harrowing is often used to describe a firsthand experience that is terrifying, such as a harrowing drive home in icy weather, but it can also refer to a secondhand experience, such as reading or watching something that is very frightening or disturbing.)

Well, can ya?

If you can ... drag yourself back here next Wednesday for NEW adventures of...

OUT OF THIS WORLD WEDNESDAY!!

Our Chorkie, Chevy, Terrorizes The Vet Staff!

We took Chevy (our Chorkie...Chihuahua/Yorkie mix) to the vet this morning for his checkup.

Chevy is only 9 lbs 6 ounces, but has a "rep" at the vet!

They have to muzzle the little guy, because he WILL bite them, if they mess with his face or mouth area, his ears, his butt, or eyes (I guess that's part of his face), his feet, tail, tummy...I guess EVERY PART OF HIS LITTLE BODY!

We got him as a rescue dog who had been living on the streets of Lincoln, Illinois, so we have no idea what abuse he may have suffered, but he's very defensive!

However, when I take him on his walks through the neighborhood, he's as friendly as Casper The Friendly Ghost, "the children all love him so," and he never snaps at ANYONE!

He just don't dig getting messed with! Kinda like a cat, who let's you pet him/her, only until he/she does NOT want you to pet him/her, and instantly attacks you viciously!! (notice how gender inclusive I try to be?)

Sidebar: When Donna and I were awaiting the vet folks to call us in, some young woman came in with a fish tank in her hands. She had her pet, who was in the tank, covered with a blanket.

Donna leaned toward the tank to see what might be in it and asked the woman what kind of pet she had in there. Donna thought, maybe a hamster, or gerbil, or a little lizard. The woman replied, "A ball python.

That's when Donna quickly leaned away from the fish tank and pretended she was not aghast!

aghast

[ uh-gastuh-gahst ]

I have to admit, I was also a bit aghast, but pretended I was not aghast.

Maybe he was startled because Morgan Freeman portrayed God in a movie once.

Anyway, where was I? Oh, yeah...at the vet place! Chevy was his same old "tasmanian devil" dog, terrorizing the staff, but perfectly calm and happy after his medieval style torture (according to Chevy) was over!

How is your pet at the vet? Let us know here at Bloggadocious 222, and we'll laugh at your stories! Unless your pet is perfect at the vet. In that case, we won't believe you!

I'm Way Too Insecure, Folks!

Bill Murray nailed it!

All my life I've had the need to be perfect, I think it's because my brother Dave WAS perfect, and I wanted to emulate him as much as possible, even though I could never come close!

After I played a high school football game and 40 classmates would tell me I did a great job, I'd be disappointed if  someone I EXPECTED to say I did a great job...didn't.

So instead of being happy and satisfied, I was sad and frustrated over the one or two who remained silent.

I never considered the possibility that they may have had something  pressing on their minds at the time.

Maybe their goldfish passed away, or their Ford broke down on the way to the game, or they just had a wisdom tooth pulled out! It could have been a million things that prevented them from telling me..."Great job!"

I think I expect everyone to be like me, in that I go out of my way to encourage others in their efforts to do stuff.

My motto is "you can ALWAYS find something good to say about others!"

For instance, your friend strikes out every time in a game, you can say, "you took some GOOD swings, and made some great catches in the field, my friend!"

Maybe someone sings horribly at church, but you say, "you really sang that with feeling, or you memorized all the words perfectly...well done!"

The reason I bring this up is because when I sang at church yesterday, I STILL felt bad when the ones who I thought would say "good job", said nothing. Don't get me wrong, a lot of people I respect and love were very expressive with their encouraging comments, but ones who I have complimented on their performances in the past said not a word.

Me on the inside. Well ,maybe not this bad.

All I can think (dismissing any possibilities they had more important things to worry about) is they are all jealous of me! Yeah! That must be it!

Sooooo, I wrote a little poem about it...

Jealous Of Me...Poem by Danny Maness

Why does everybody say I'm stupid,
Why does everybody say I'm dumb,
Why does everybody call me goofy,
And a dirty, lousy bum?

Why does everybody say I'm ugly,
And laugh out loud when I sing,
Why does everybody call me crazy,
When I try to sing like Queen
(Freddie Mercury)

It's because they're jealous of me,
It's because they're jealous of me,
I know they won't admit it,
And I'm sure they'll never quit it,
but it's because they're jealous of me!!

OR

I'm REALLY not that good!! Hmmm?
