Misfits Mar The "Magnificent Mile!"
- Okay, I've never been to the "magnificent mile,"or ever had the desire to go to the "magnificent mile," but it must be pretty cool to be named the "magnificent mile!"
mar
/mär/
verb
- impair the appearance of; disfigure."no wrinkles marred her face"
- impair the quality of; spoil."violence marred a number of New Year celebrations"
Now, did you notice the last definition of mar? .impair the quality of; spoil. "violence marred a number of New Years Celebrations"
The reason I chose the word misfits is because am doing a kind of alliteration thing...misfits...mar...magnificent, mile...get it?
Not that I have proof positive that ALL those folks breaking into the shops and looting are misfits, but you can come to your own conclusion on that.
Some of them may have simply been confused, and thought the stores were giving away all that stuff out of the goodness of their hearts. Something that, I'm sure, happens on the "magnificent mile" all the time!
Seriously friends, it breaks my heart so much to see these desperados reluctantly running into boutiques with tears in their eyes stealing items that will fill their basic needs.
I know, it looks like they're laughing and having fun, but I believe that deep down inside their hearts, they feel a measure of guilt for partaking in this "righteous rioting for rewards!"
I'm a bit old fashioned, but I've always believed in what my elders taught me, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"...wrong saying...I meant..."if it ain't yours, don't take it!"
However, I'm ALWAYS way behind the times.
Eph. 4
28 Let the stealer steal no more, but rather let him toil, working what is honest with [his] hands, that he may have to distribute to him that has need.
