Praying On The Path In Pekin.

I almost always pray when I take a walk. I say ALMOST
because, to be honest, sometimes I forget. However, MOST
of the time I pray because it's quiet and peac
eful in the
morning on the trail in Pekin as I walk to the river.
I get on the trail at 11th and Ann Eliza and walk about a
mile past local businesses, over railroad tracks, by pine t
rees, and down to the Pekin riverfront.

I think it was really nice of the city to put these quarter mile markers on the path to let you know how far you've walked.
Heavenly Father, thank you for this beautiful day and
the rain you provided that made everything smell so fresh and made the leaves glisten like diamonds. Please send rain to the drought stricken areas in Texas and other dry areas. They need rain so desperately.

This is a walking/bike path and I think this is a cute sign depicting bicycles where one is towing one of those baby
trailers.
I pray you would watch over Maddux who is only two and making great progress in fighting his cancer and please help
Jeannie, a faithful member of our church for many years, who is also battling cancer.

I'm so glad they don't allow motor vehicals on the trail. That would defeat the whole purpose of this place of peace and tranquility.
And Lord, I am so thankful for my wond
erful sweet wife who never gives up on me in spite of my weaknesses and
thoughtless behavior at times. She forgives me
as you forgive all of us who sincerely seek it from YOU.

This is a very pretty part of the path, walking past these pine tress and getting a glimpse of the bridge. At this point I know I am very close to the Illinois River.
And Dear God, my heart goes out to the family members of the victims of 9/11 and all the people who STILL undergo physical and mental suffering as a result of being there on that day America will never forget.

The lovely river at sunrise.
And please, heavenly Father, so many are having economic hardship, severe illnesses, the loss of loved ones, mental anxiety and things that are too great for them to handle on their own, and only YOU can give the comfort and help we need in these difficult times.

The old Pekin Union Mission can be seen from the trail and the beautiful riverside park in Pekin. I wonder how many folks accepted Jesus into thier heart at this place.
And as in all my prayers Lord, thank you for the miracle you have performed with our grandaughter Breanna, the loving kindness and help you've given to Brooklin, Matt and Ashley. We are so thankful for them.
Thank you for my wonderful family and the awesome church family you have given me.
Please bless my sister Dee-Dee and her husband Stan, Pastor Tom and Jackie, everyone at Christ Bible Church and everyone that needs your tender mercy in these troubled times.
Let your Kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven as you deliver us from the wicked one.
I ask your forgiveness and pray for the time when ALL of your creation bows down in worship to YOU.
In Jesus name, Amen.

The New Danny!

See the amazing photo up above? That is where my mind dwells. Far out in space, traveling at the speed of light. When I write my absurd books I'm telling you exactly what my mind sees from that distant wacky place in the universe. However, most of you do not dwell out here with me and have a difficult time understanding my alien tongue.
So I have been making an effort on m
y blog to come down from there and plant my feet on earth for a while. A more relaxed and easy goin' Danny that doesn't scare readers away with my lunatic ravings that often make no sense to the average earthling. I want you to have the inner peacefulness that the picture above gives us.

I always have a million thoughts going o
n in my head and no matter how fast I type, I can't keep up with my ideas. It's like somebody dictating to you really fast and you can't keep up writing it down.
This photo gives you an idea of
what is going on in my brain at any given time.

It is different on my blog. I am actually taking my time and thinking a
bout what I'm writing BEFORE I type it. What a concept!

Thank you for reading my blog and if you ever feel like commenting, be my guest.

What I See Everyday Makes Me Fall Down On My Knees And Thank God For All Of His Blessings!

Breathtaking photographs like these remind me of
that special time in my y
oung life when I hitchhiked
all over America.
The pictures he
re do not come close to the real thing.
The wonderful sounds of birds and the smell of pine
along with the magn
ificence of the mountains and the sparkling lakes and streams is an experience that cannot be adequately described in words or from a photo.

Too often our private little world becomes
cell phones, traffic jams, boring jobs, appointments,
Facebook, paying bills...and we forget what a
gorgeous, awesome world God has given us!
Even though the
y're not the real thing, these
beautiful pictures give me a sense of peace and
reassurance that G
od loves us and has created
awe inspiri
ng things to make us happy!

However, we do not need to travel to e
xotic destinations to experience the marvelous things God has given us to make our hearts happy. What I see around me every day makes me fall down on my knees and thank God for his wonderful blessings. Let me share them with you:

You don't know what you've got till it's gone!

Gandjingle2
www.theaposematics.com
Let's start out by playing the jingle I wrote for the Greg and Dan radio show. See it? It says Gandjingle2 www.theaposematics.com.
The G means Greg and the D means Dan and the jingle was recorded by the Aposematics band member John Farmer at his
Blue Civilian Studio.
O.K. Now click on it and listen. Wasn't that awesome!

I know, I know I'm a genius but nobody else realizes that yet.
The Greg and Dan Show used to play my jingle every Wednesday
until I blew the gig! See why everybody says I'm so dumb?
Greg is the nicest guy I've ever met a
nd gave me a couple of segments on his radio show to promote my books and allowed me to be a part of the show as "Peggy" and played my jingle every Wednesday and I did not appreciate it.
I am not writing this to get sympathy from you (It was MY fault) or to apologize to Greg ( I've done that) but life is exactly as Joni Mitchell sang, "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone."
