Superbowl Half Time Show...A Big NO!

I grew up watching and listening to entertainment that was relaxing, funny, mellow, rock and rolly, inspiring, and good things like that. So excuse me for not enjoying the Superbowl 53 Halftime Show.

First of all, didn't they used to pick the GREATEST stars in the world to perform at halftime?

Folks like Paul McCartney, Prince, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Whitney Houston....

Who in the heck is Big Boi? I looked him up and he's from Georgia, so maybe that's why they selected him to sing at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Atlanta, Georgia. A major superstar? I don't think so.

Ask people on the street (before Superbowl 53) who Big Boi is, and this will come to mind for most of them.

Travis Scott? Don't think many would know him either. Not like they would know, let's say, James Taylor, Alicia Keys, Garth Brooks, John Legend, Aerosmith, or even Taylor Swift!

Many more folks know about Adam Levine from The Voice than from listening to Maroon 5, I suggest, but I've been wrong a LOT in my life.

My point is, not one of Superbowl LIII halftime performers were on a high enough level in the entertainment world, to have been on the biggest stage (viewerly speaking) in the universe!

Image of microscopic section of the universe.

Led Zeppelin they were not! Hey! Why didn't they have Led Zeppelin? Now there's an AWESOME band! The fans would have loved Stairway To Heaven or that one that talks about coming from the land of ice and snow and Hot Springs Arkansas. That's got a great beat!!

Yeah, I know Led Zeppelin is gone, but a boi can dream, can't he?

Boi, Boy, or Buoy? Place your
answer in comments section below.

Didn't the "bigwigs" think about the audience when they planned this halfwit halftime show?

Think about it. The Superbowl audience consists mostly of heterosexual men (men who like women), and a much smaller percentage of women who like men, so why have 3 MEN, two doing rap (which had to be bleeped), and one doing a strip show!

Of course, I could be TOTALLY wrong, as usual. Maybe the world is at a place where women watch the Superbowl more than men, and when you throw in men who love men, folks who love rap, pyro-technic aficionados, tatoo lovers, Maroon 5 fans, and people too high to really know what was going on, it may have been a the most brilliant idea for a halftime show, EVER!!

Let me know if you think my observations are way off base, unfounded, old fashioned, silly, or deeply profound.

I just hope that next year they have a well known group like the Beatles, or Sly And The Family Stone!! Oh, yeah, baby!!!

Superbowl 53 (LIII) Sleepy As Can Be

I told you that I was gonna do a review of the Superbowl and the Superbowl commercials today, but EVERYTHING was ho hum.

Who said, "You DIDN'T tell us you would do a review of the Superbowl game and Superbowl commercials?"

Well...anyway...I guess you're right, but I was definitely gonna do it, and THOUGHT I told you about my decision.

How can a review a "nothing burger" Superbowl disaster?

The commercials went from okay to bad! Nothing like the CLASSIC Superbowl commercials of times past, in my expert opinion.

I will not even talk about the snorefest of a game.

Maybe I'm wrong. Did you guys find the game a wonderful display of DEFENSE, or just saying that to make yourself look like a REAL connoisseur of the intricasies of football, whilst, secretly,  finding the game excruciatingly boring?

Doesn't the Superbowl Bigwigs even review the commercials anymore, or do they only care about who gives them the most money?

My gosh, even the Budweiser Clydesdale commercial about "wind power" sucked wind!!

Doesn't EVERYONE know that wind power is one of the most inefficient methods of producing electrolysis that was ever conceived!!

Then the one about "girl power" showed how ignorant these ad people are! Did they not know that girls have ALWAYS had the power since Adam and Eve!

I'm sorry, but those "message" commercials just bring me down when they play them during an event that is supposed to lift us up with joy and excitement, like the Superbowl normally does, but this Superbowl did not, so I guess the pitiful ads were wholly appropriate!

The Bud Light commercial with the BIG barrel of corn syrup was okay,, but I have always enjoyed that little, wacky, Bud Light kingdom, anyway.

Who disagrees wit me? (Yes, I know I said wit)

Who wants to be the first to defend the crappy commercials during Superbowl LIII (53).

I really like John Malkovich, but he was SO overacting, whilst standing in the CGI Colosseum, in that little pregame thingy with Peyton Manning, who is surprisingly funny. (I THINK it was a CGI Colosseum, because I don't think they would send Malkovich all the way to Rome for a silly promo like that. Or would they?

I am truly interested in what you folks think about Superbowl LIII and the ads! I'm sore disappointed, to use a bible word. What are your innermost thoughts and feelings? Did you even watch? What kind of snacks did you have at your Superbowl party? Why didn't you invite me?

I almost forgot! I got physically sick watching all of those football players KISSING the Lombardi Trophy! With all the spit and slobber from the other players, they STILL kissed right on top of  the spit and slobber of everyone else, not worrying about where those mouths have been! Yuck!!!

MY ANNUAL SUPERBOWL ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION FOR MMXIX (2019)

Did you know that a Wilson football has been used in EVERY SUPERBOWL game? In fact, Wilson has been the official football for the NFL since MCMXLI (1941) I'm using roman numerals because they are so Superbowlish.

I hope you all aren't confused that I said this was. "my "ANNUAL" SUPERBOWL analysis and prediction," because I've never done a SUPERBOWL analysis and prediction. What I mean is, this is my FIRST annual SUPERBOWL analysis and prediction.

I'm glad we got that settled before a firestorm of controversy reared it's ugly head upon our calm, peaceful blog.

I used to play football on the Pattonville High School team, so I am quite the expert when it comes to what happens on the ole gridiron.

An actual representation of a real gridiron! For you uninitiated.

Let's see, now, ya got 2 teams playin', the New England Rams and the Los Angeles Patriots. They both must be pretty good, unless they cheated to get into Superbowl LIII (53) Which is next to impossible, right?

The Rams used to be in St. Louis, and before that, L.A., and now they're in good ole New England! How did they do dat?

Analyzing the New England Rams is not very difficult. They have a bunch of HUGE guys that protect their star quarterback, Bart Starr, Bronko Nagurski, Marcia Brady, Drew Brady! (Finally nailed it)

That's the whole story on them!

As for the Patriots, they've been moving around so much that they don't know if they are in St. Louis, Anaheim, Poughkeepsie or what!

I need to make a correction, folks. I got the teams a little mixed up. The actual teams playing in the SUPERBOWL are the Tuscaloosa Tinkerbelles against the Mean Machine from the Longest Yard movie. (I'm talkin' about the original movie with Burt Reynolds, not the crappy one with Adam Sandler)

Uh, I guess you can see that I know nothing about the SUPERBOWL at all.

I thought I would jump on the bandwagon while the iron is hot, and "seize the day," as the late great, Mork from Ork taught me to do!

Even though I have no clue as to who will win the SUPERBOWL, I do predict a NASTY winter of 2018-19. I know I'm goin' out on a limb, but I can be quite daring at times!

FYI, I DO watch the SUPERBOWL for the cool commercials, especially the Budweiser Clydesdale Ads, the Mean Joe Green-like commercials that bring a tear to my eye, any ad with puppies, hilarious commercials with cameos of people you'd never expect, and bizarre ads.

I do not care about the game very much. I would if it were still the St. Louis Cardinals football team, or the St. Louis Rams football team, and that's kinda weird, because I haven't lived in St. Louis for 100 years or more.

1904 St. Louis Worlds Fair...It was grand!

Make AMERICA This Blog Great Again!

One of the MAJOR goals in my life is to persuade you readers to get more involved with this blog by making comments.

I know that there are a lot of you faithful readers that are here every day, who only feel like reading, and that's okay.

On the other hand, I also know that some of you guys are very excellent comment makers, who think you are WAY too busy to comment, and you probably ARE too busy, so that's also okay.

In addition, some of you out there (and you know who you are) are afraid to comment, due to Russian collusion, conspiracy stuff that keeps us from sharing our innermost feelings that the Ruuskies could use against us...and that's just weird!

Come on, gang! Ignore what I said before! Ya can't let your fears, your helter skelter lifestyle, or dare I say it, laziness (like I'm guilty of) prevent you from adding a new dimension to this blog by commenting your heads off!

Just think about how your brilliant, funny, or even profound comments can raise the classiness of this blog 1000%!

ALL of you folks are light years above me in intelligence!
light year

Dictionary result for light year

/ˈlīt ˈˌyi(ə)r/
noun
plural noun: light years
  1. ASTRONOMY
a unit of astronomical distance equivalent to the distance that light travels in one year, which is 9.4607 × 1012 km (nearly 6 trillion miles).

A comment from you is like the frosting on a birthday cake, the butter on a piece of toast, the top hat on Abe Lincoln, the whiskers on a kitten, that pretty blue color on a 57 Chevy, and anything that transforms something plain to something exceptional!!

"I can't think of anything to comment on, Danny," you say with deep apprehension.

Here are some things to choose from, my friends...

1. Comment on why you hate to comment.

2. Comment on the stinking cold weather...unless you live in a pleasant climate area...then brag about how nice it is where you live.

3. Comment about your pet. Everybody loves that!

4. Comment about what you had for breakfast.... especially if it was something out of the ordinary, like cold spaghetti and rocky road ice cream.

5. Do NOT comment on anything political, unless it's gonna make a difference. Hee hee!

6. Comment about your kids and grandkids! That's what a family does...and aren't we ALL family?

Anyway, if you are sincerely opposed to making a comment, no worries...we all have our phobias.

Conversely, if you are kinda gregarious, and wish to brighten the world with your stimulating, captivating worms WORDS, go on ahead and contribute your comments, in the comments section below.

I KNOW you can do it!!!
