A Happy Day In Springfield

It was a happy day in Springfield,
But it almost made us cry,
They passed a major law,
To make more unborn die.

They doubled down on taxes,
And gave themselves a raise,
They say it's all to help us,
"These are the good old days!"

"The good old days" to them, of course,
The rest of us, we suffer,
When we ask to get a break or two,
They tell us to be tougher!

They think that legalizing weed,
Will dull us to the truth,
But no drug will ever hide the fact,
They're nasty and uncouth!

If I were God, I'd wipe them out,
Those stepping on the frail,
Making laws to end the unborn,
While they dine on lobster tail.

However, God is patient,
His thoughts more pure than mine,
He's waiting for the perfect day,
To show His will divine!

  1. Danny...you never cease to stagger me! My legs buckle a bit, and my equilibrium falls away....for your ability to use poetry and prose to convey heavy, TRUTHFUL, hopeful statements of fact into delightful reads is nothing short of GENIUS! You see so much; and you have so much wisdom to share ( I always eagerly eat it up!), but you never EVER forget God's Truths and Promises! That is why I get so much knowledge, encouragement; and pure delight from what you share! This is an extraordinary way to share these things. I promise I am going to make this a regular thing! THNAK YOU so much for being such a bright, important part of this world; and for being such an astounding inspiration in MY life! You are the best, Danny!
