THERAPY TUESDAY

Vincent Van Gogh suffered from bi-polar disorder.

BI-POLAR
by Danny Maness

Who am I?

Sometimes I wonder,
Peaceful clouds,
Or blasting thunder!

Loving grandpa?
Raging bull?
Both directions,
Feelings pull.

Smiling, caring,
Laugh out loud,
Wanting to avoid the crowd.

Looking up,
To lofty goals,
Crawling down depressing holes.

Acting silly as a clown,
Devastated, down and down.

Making friends,
So easily,
Then losing them,
Afraid of me.

I said some things,
I did not mean,
I threw a tantrum,
Then I screamed.

"I'm sorry," only helps a bit,
It scares them when I have a fit.

My heart is good,
I do believe,
But I wear my feelings,
On my sleeve,

And hurt the ones I love so dear,
With angry words,
To cause them fear.

Thank God for friends who understand,
Say it's okay, hold out their hands,
Forgive me for my unkind ways,
Then kneel with me, so we can pray.

I could not live without their love,
And God's sweet spirit from above,
Amazing grace it comes for free,
And saves a poor old wretch like me.

    1. You are one of my very important, caring friends that I talk about in the poem, Cheryl! How can I ever thank you, Yellow Rose?
