Remembering What I Forgot!

Okay, folks. I know most of my readers will not want to read my blog today, because I'm so late...AGAIN!

To tell you the truth, I could not think of anything encouraging to write about, until now, at 5:20 pm.

"Writers block" is very unusual for me. Normally I have so many ideas rushing through my positronic brain I can't make up my mom what to share with you guys...and gals!

I think I got thrown off by life happening. I don't know about you, but when life happens, it can be extremely distracting!

By the way, I can only continue to write this blog until Donna comes home. Once she comes home it's her turn on the computer and I have to stop cold turkey!

I best type faster!

So, as I was saying, before I rudely interrupted myself, I finally found something positive, uplifting, and encouraging to write about!

It's...uh..I mean...NOW I FORGOT!!

No worries. I'll merember before I stop ex-communicating with y'all,

I think it was my cruel, sadistic high school football coaches that are responsible for my memory loss.

They would have the whole team stand in a circle, throw a football in the middle of said circle, and we had to dive head first for the football, which led to concussions and unconsciousness, they tell me.

Of course, I have no recall of this barbaric drill, but innocent bystanders related the story to me in it's aftermath.

On the other hand, my memory malady, could be from something I wrote about in one of my books.

I think the story is in my classic book, "Chicken's Butts And Coconuts," but I don't remember for sure.

I would stand between my mom and dad in the front seat of our old Ford, that had a solid steel dashboard.

Occasionally my dad would make a quick stop, and mom would block me from bumping my punkin' head with her outstretched arm, but sometimes she was not quick enough and I'd fly head first into the immovable dashboard...my sisters told me.

Then there was the infamous day when I walked in front of the swings and got 14 stiches in my punkin' hade, from the corner wooden seat!

No wonder I can't remember I was gonna talk about the little sparrow chasing the moth this morning. My mind is mostly mush from multitudes of mighty blows to my brain!

Hey! I merembered!

So, you know how moths fly, right? All erratic, up, down, back and forth. As I was watching him, or her, flying so delightfully reckless abandonedly, I see a little sparrow swoop in to eat the moth, but he, or she, is having to fly just as erractically to try and catch the moth! I don't know, it just looked very comical to me. I never saw if the sparrow ever caught the moth, because they flew behind the garage and out of sight.

Not I great story? I know. I'm just happy I finally merembered it!!

Donna's home!! I gotta go!!!

8. Order 100 White Castle hamburgers... that will only cost 5 bucks!

Well, I'm glad my time machine is working! I need to take advantage of it, before it goes on the blink again!

See ya when I get back!!

Remembering What's Important!

I took my machete and hacked my way out to the garage, to grab the lawn mower, to mow the lawn!

The incessant rains have made it next to impossiroo to do my mowing duties, and I was kinda embarrassed about the incredibly high weeds.

Follow her ME down to a bridge by the fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies.
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers WEEDS,
That grow so incredibly high.

Anywho, I got the dastardly deed done, and now I'm plum tuckered!

Since this is the day to remember those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom on D-Day, I will surrender my blog time to the honoring of those brave warriors!

Formerly Beautiful Cities In Peril!

I try not to watch the news as much as I used to, because it's so maddening, but I stumbled across something about the once beautiful cities that have now deteriorated into "trash heaps" in recent years.

I'm sure it's not happening in the fancy parts of the cities, because the rich folks can afford to pay for "protections" against it. Not that I'm opposed to "protections" that protect us from crime, violence and rampant squalor. I wish I had more "protections" than I do now. And I don't even live in Frisco, Seattle, L.A. or Goofy Ridge.

I visited San Fran around circa 1970, and it was the most beautiful city I'd ever seen, which is not sayin' much, because I had not been to many cities at age 20.

It breaks my heart to see photos of the disgusting filth that lines the streets of many parts of this formerly gorgeous city, that makes folks have to watch where they walk, very carefully!

They said in the news report that diseases are being spread, drug paraphernalia is tossed on the sidewalks, and they don't know what to do about it!

Well, I don't have all the answers. However, I know that I'm not going back to San Francisco, or Seattle, or ANY of these formerly beautiful cities under those nasty conditions!

I've never been accused of being smart, but here are some suggestions for the city leaders:

1. Tell the tent city dwellers, the aliens from the Pleiades star system will be attacking the city soon, so they need to get to the rural areas, find jobs and stay there until the "all clear" is flashed to them in the sky!

2. Find all the billionaires, and pass a law that they  will be required to purchase ranches for each individual or family who are homeless and living on the streets. The billionaires will be reciprocated by receiving half of everything grown or produced on the ranches, if the new ranchers are industrious enough to produce anything. If they are too lazy to work, they will be sent to the Soylent Green factory.

3. Disguise the areas by putting very large and long paintings of landscapes in front of them, and have a constant mist of sweet perfume wafting through the air,  to cover the smell of garbage and feces.

4. Turn the sidewalks into gullies, fill them with water, and convert them into wetland, free range areas for alligators!

Fortunately, as Christians, which most of my readers are, we put our hope in God's promises. The bible says at Matthew and Mark, "the poor will always be with us," and we are saddened and frustrated by the people living in squalor right now, but we have a wonderful hope that is far above what human governments could ever do!

I'ts Donna's Birthday Today!!!!

Today is my beloved, Donna's birthday! I am the one who "lucked out," because she is beautiful and sweet, and I'm not!

Just yesterday we went to "prompt care," where they didn't know us, and they thought Donna was my daughter! Wow! She looks young enough to be my daughter! Or, possibly, I look old enough to be her dad!! Naw! That couldn't be it, could it?

Yeah, I can see what they mean.

Anyway, she has always been adorable since she was little bitty. Here is proof...

I thank God that Donna is so wonderful to her kids, her parents, the grandkids, me, the dog, Chevy...because we would all be in a serious world of hurt without her loving kindness and compassion!

It's not just on her birthday that I tell her how much I love her, but every single day, just in case she forgets, and decides to run away with Ryan Paevey, because of my not saying I love you enough.

No comparison between him and me, right?

While Donna doesn't care if I mention her age (she say's "age is just a number"), I ain't gonna do it, due to the fact I'm not stupid. (Well, not THAT stupid)

We were thinking about going to the islands for Donna's birthday, but the Illinois river has flooded them over, and the asian carp aren't biting, anyways!

A personal poem to you, my sweet, baby angel, Donna...

I love you in the morning, I love you in the night,
And now upon you're birthday, our love has taken flight,

It soars up to the heavens, and halfway to the moon,
The reason I'm so happy, is you were born in June!

So on this date we celebrate, your birthday cheer to elevate, the magic and the joy we share, and show you, Donna, that I care!!!

I love you very, very, very much!!! Happy Birthday!!!!

A Happy Day In Springfield

It was a happy day in Springfield,
But it almost made us cry,
They passed a major law,
To make more unborn die.

They doubled down on taxes,
And gave themselves a raise,
They say it's all to help us,
"These are the good old days!"

"The good old days" to them, of course,
The rest of us, we suffer,
When we ask to get a break or two,
They tell us to be tougher!

They think that legalizing weed,
Will dull us to the truth,
But no drug will ever hide the fact,
They're nasty and uncouth!

If I were God, I'd wipe them out,
Those stepping on the frail,
Making laws to end the unborn,
While they dine on lobster tail.

However, God is patient,
His thoughts more pure than mine,
He's waiting for the perfect day,
To show His will divine!
